A female tegu lizard approximately 1.5 meters long was found in the bedroom of a house in the village of Visconde de Mauá, municipality of Resende, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro. “It is common for tegus to appear unexpectedly in homes, in the case of this tegu, she was looking for a shelter so she could lay her eggs,” said Carlos Dário, manager of the Pedra Selada State Park, which is close to the residence where the animal was found. found.
The resident of the house was scared when she saw the reptile this Thursday (26) and called environmental agents from Inea, who went to the location to remove the animal.
According to Inea, when the team arrived, the animal was calm, serene and was placed inside a wooden box to then be returned to its natural habitat, in an area located around the Pedra Selada State Park.
