Pregnant is shot dead on the way to the hospital to give birth to the West Bank

A pregnant Israeli settler was killed in a gunfire attack in the Somble occupied on Wednesday (14).

The action generated appeals from radical leaders in favor of the settlers so that nearby Palestinian villages are destroyed.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the shots near the Brukhin settlement in northern West Bank.

The Israeli army claimed to be looking for the author.

Isaac Herzog, president of Israel, reported that Tzela Gez was shot while in a car with her husband, on her way to the hospital to give birth.

Israeli media reported that she was declared dead where the baby was born by caesarean section.

The newborn is in serious but stable condition, while Gez’s husband, Hananel, was slightly injured.

The attack, which occurred amid one of the largest Israeli military operations in West Bank in two decades, caused angry reactions of Israeli politicians, who said the neighboring Palestinian cities of Bruqin and Az-Zawiya should be destroyed as the cities of Gaza.

“Just as we are rocking Rafah, Khan Youis and Gaza, we must also crush the terror nests in Judea and Samaria,” said Ultracerea Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, employing the term often used in Israel to West Bank.

Israeli state chief of staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, visited the troops that pursued the aggressor, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared themselves horrified by the case.

“I count on the security forces that, in this case, will quickly find the killers and get their math with them and with whom they helped them,” Netanyahu said in a statement.

The Israeli army reported on Wednesday night that soldiers were looking for the perpetrator.

It was not immediately clear whether the military or other Israeli authorities identified those involved.
