The influencer Isabel Veloso 18, made a statement on her social media this Tuesday (8) to talk about the discovery that the tumor has grown back . She is 20 weeks pregnant and said that she made the decision to return to treatment after deciding to stop and become a palliative patient .
“A child changes our lives and you know that my dream was not to be pregnant, it was to be a mother. I think being a mother isn’t just about carrying a baby with you, it’s about seeing your child grow, it’s about loving them, it’s about wanting your child’s life and fighting for it,” she said in the video.
Isabel explained that her Hodgkin’s lymphoma tumor grew again after it stabilized. The influencer stopped taking treatments for the cancer she has had since she was 15 years old, becoming a terminal patient — with a life expectancy of six months — and then palliative care.
“I said I would never undergo treatment again because I was too tired, it demanded too much of me, so they gave me six months to live. Thank God I managed to stabilize the tumor thanks to the therapy I underwent at the beginning of the year”, said the pregnant woman.
She explained that the progression of the cancer does not yet pose a risk to her life or that of her baby, but, even so, she decided to undergo treatment again.
“I’m going to do chemotherapy and it won’t cause any malformations to the baby, to Arthur, he’s already formed. He is healthy and the only things that can happen are, possibly, that he will be born a little earlier than expected. He is expected on February 28th, so he may end up coming a little earlier, but I have a calm heart, because I know he will be fine and so will I”, said Isabel in the published video.
Veloso said that he will begin treatment as soon as possible and stressed that chemotherapy will not harm the baby. “My cancer is not expected to be cured, but the only difference is that I want treatment to live longer and see my son grow”, reflected the influencer.

The news that her tumor had grown again was revealed by her husband, Lucas Borba, on social media. “Today, the new report showed that the tumor, which is not part of my wife, but is in her, has grown in some worrying places and as we are waiting for Arthur it makes us even more worried,” he said.
