Pregnant Isabel Veloso talks about hair loss during chemotherapy

The influencer Isabel Veloso 18, used social media to update her health status. 24 weeks pregnant she resumed chemotherapy sessions last month, after noticing the growth of her Hodgkin lymphoma tumor.

Responding to questions from her followers on Instagram, Isabel mentioned that her hair is falling out during chemotherapy, but that it is still not enough. “A few threads indeed.” In addition to revealing that she was a little anemic, due to pregnancy and chemotherapy, the influencer recorded some videos to say how she was feeling.

“I confess to you that I’m very tired, but it’s not like, ‘Oh, I don’t want any more’, you know? really,” he explains.

Afterwards, she said that this was one of the reasons why she moved away from the internet and even from her circle of friends. “I isolated myself a lot, but not because: ‘Oh, I’m getting depressed’, something like that, but because I need time for myself, you know?”, she said, saying that she was still getting used to her new routine.

There, she also mentioned that she loves being pregnant, but that the pregnancy demands a lot from her, even more so because she is undergoing cancer treatment. “Every time I continue with my treatment, it is no longer that effort that I make thinking only about myself, but it is thinking about him, about Arthur”, he mentioned.

The news that her tumor had grown again was revealed by her husband, Lucas Borbas, on social media. The influencer had stopped taking treatments for the cancer she has had since she was 15, becoming a terminal patient — with a life expectancy of six months — and then palliative care.

At the time, she explained that the progression of the cancer does not pose a risk to her life or that of her baby, but, even so, she decided to undergo treatment again.

According to the National Cancer Institute (Inca), Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer that originates in the lymphatic system — made up of organs and tissues that produce the cells responsible for immunity and the vessels that carry these cells through the body.
