A 33-year-old woman who was pregnant died last Tuesday (13) after being hit by a truck that provides service to the post office. The case occurred on Monday (12) in Piraquara (PR), in the metropolitan region of Curitiba.
The accident happened on the João Leopoldo Jacomel highway. According to the Air Operations Military Police Battalion, Angelina Roberta was trapped under the truck wheel.
The woman was rescued by helicopter and taken to the Worker Hospital, where she died. The baby she expected, Maitê, also died.
The bodies of mother and daughter will be buried in the Vertical Cemetery of Curitiba on Wednesday (14).
In a statement, the post office reported that the vehicle involved in the accident is from an outsourced fleet and that the service company is following the case. The state -owned company said it “regrets the event and continues to collaborate with the investigations.”
