An aircraft on a flight from Morocco to Turkey made an emergency landing at Barcelona airport due to a false alarm signaled by a pregnant woman, who was shouting that she was giving birth.
Indeed, according to Reuters, thus, 28 immigrants who were on board the aircraft found an opportunity to flee.
Police arrested the 14 people, including the pregnant woman, who, officials said, pretended to have her “water break.”
Another 14 people have not yet been found and are being sought by the authorities.
Five of those arrested were immediately boarded the plane operated by Turkish Pegasus Airlines, while eight will be deported to Morocco. The pregnant woman was checked at the hospital and it was found that she was not in labor.
The plane was carrying a total of 228 passengers from Casablanca to Istanbul.
As Reuters recalls, last October, a group of passengers left a plane on the runway on the island of Mallorca in Spain after making an emergency landing under false pretenses, and 12 of them were arrested, while another 12 escaped.
