Preparation of Russian cosmonauts for landing on the moon has begun

In Russia, the preparation of cosmonauts for the upcoming landing on the moon has begun. The video of the training of Russian cosmonauts was published on the Web by the Yuri Gagarin Russian Cosmonaut Training Center.

The video appeared on the official YouTube channel of the Center. The video captured by cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin (pictured above) during the development of the upcoming landing on the moon during the experiment “Constellation”. Training takes place on the Exit-2 simulator, which simulates the force of gravity as on a natural satellite of the Earth. In the video, you can see how Misurkin exits the lander, jumps on an impromptu lunar surface, works with tools and then returns to the spacecraft. During the training, the experts evaluated the cosmonaut’s ability to control the spacesuit’s systems and various equipment. The next stage will be the development of a vehicle simulator for movement on the lunar surface, which was developed at the Cosmonaut Training Center.

Recall that the Russian lunar program, designed for 2021-2040, was presented in November 2018. The concept of exploration and exploration of the Moon involves three stages. The first landing of Russian cosmonauts on the surface of an Earth satellite is planned at the second stage called “Outpost” in 2030.
