Prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road”, “Furiosa” hits theaters

After passing through Los Angeles, Sydney and Cannes, the long-awaited “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” arrives in Brazilian cinemas this Thursday (23).

The title is a prequel to “Fury Road” (2015) and is focused on Empress Furiosa, who in the first film is played by Charlize Theron and now, younger, for Anya Taylor-Joy .

In the plot, young Furiosa falls into the hands of a large horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus, played by Chris Hemsworth. Sweeping the Wasteland, they find the Citadel, presided over by Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa soon finds herself in an all-out battle to return home.

The film's direction is George Miller responsible for the other films in the franchise, as well as hits such as “The Witches of Eastwick” (1987), “Babe: The Little Pig” (1995) and “Happy Feet” (2006).

The saga began in 1979 with the film “Mad Max” . The sequence, “Mad Max 2: The Hunt Continues”, was released in 1981 and the third film, “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome”, in 1985. The post-apocalyptic universe returned with “Mad Max: Fury Road” in 2015. Now, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” It will be the fifth feature in the franchise.
