Presentation of the National Register of Procedures ‘Mitos’ and awarding of Digital Governance Awards

“Mitos”, the National Register of Procedures, which is an important reform in Public Administration, was presented by the Minister of State and Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis.

“Myth” was presented during an event for the awarding of the Digital Governance Awards instituted by the Ministry and organized by the General Secretariat for Digital Governance and Process Simplification at the SNFCC Alternative Stage.

“Mitos” is an emblematic project, cutting into the functioning of the citizen’s interaction with the state, as the latter will know in advance what exactly is required in order to be served. It is expected to lead to the upgrading of citizen service, while at the same time it will be an extremely useful tool for fighting bureaucracy and empowering Public Administration executives. In “Mitos” all the procedures of the Greek State will be gradually recorded, and it will provide citizens and end users with all the necessary information about the applicable administrative procedures, the competent services, the applicable legislation as well as the processing time. “Mitos” aims to be the Central Registry for every administrative process.

During the presentation, the Minister of State and Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis noted: “‘Mitos’ is the thread that, as it unfolds, will capture on a screen all the functions and aspects of the state and the interactions between them with simplicity and transparency. It is the digital line that will connect every node of the government machinery and lead to the mapping of the state. So far, it includes almost 1,500 processes that can be seen by the citizen, out of about 4,500 that were originally mapped. I want to thank the executives of the Greek State who contributed and contribute every day to complete a reform of such an extent, which will significantly change the experience of the citizen in his interaction with the state, the General Secretary Leonidas Christopoulos for the design and the EDYTE, body of the Ministry of Digital Governance, for the implementation of “Myth”.

Also, in the context of the event, the Minister of State and Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance Theodoris Livanios awarded honorary degrees to two IT personalities with a significant contribution to Greece, the IT pioneer in our country Andreas Drymiotis and the “architect of Taxisnet” Panagiotis Georgiadis respectively. During the award ceremony, the Minister stated: “The institution of the awards is a vision of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis since he was Minister of Administrative Governance. The logic of the Prime Minister was and is that the State can produce pioneering and innovative IT products and goods , but also to reward the people and organizations that create them. Consequently, we reward groups of civil servants, departments and departments, people who have timelessness, length of service to the State and ensure the continuity of the state regardless of governments. And at the same time, I feel great joy and honor by awarding two distinguished personalities, the public official Panagiotis Georgiadis and from the private sector Andreas Drymiotis. I thank them for their contribution, for the roads they opened and for their valuable help in the transition of Greece to another era digitally”.

The General Secretary of Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures Leonidas Christopoulos stated: “Today is a day of extroversion for the institution that I have chosen for 15 years to serve, as an executive of the public administration. Both with the “National Register of Procedures – Mitos”, and with the new institution of the “Digital Governance Awards” through which we have the opportunity to highlight the digital achievements of the people of the Public Administration, we implement at an institutional and technological level, the vision and ideas of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. I want to congratulate the executives of the Public Management who were awarded today, but also the executives who have implemented the very ambitious EMDM-MITOS platform. Their assistance and contribution is essential so that every ambitious and innovative government program can be implemented.”
