Colombian President Gustavo Petro rejected a United States claim that he had approved two American military flights with Colombian deportees.
The refusal to receive the flights, this Sunday (26), started a dispute between Petro and US President Donald Trump.
In a publication on X addressed to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Petro said he “would never allow flights to bring Colombians in handcuffs”.
“Marco, if this was allowed by the authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (of Colombia), it never happened under my direction,” he added.
I will never allow people to cheat on their Colombian spouses. Marco, if he is the one who allowed cancillery employees, he never lowered my indication. Cipayos will be.

Rubio said Sunday that Petro had authorized the flights and “provided all necessary authorizations, and then canceled his authorization when the planes were already in the air.”
A Trump administration official also told CNN that Colombia caught the American government by surprise when it rejected the two military flights destined for the country.
According to documents accessed by CNN Colombian authorities had approved the arrival of the two flights before takeoff.
The agreement, however, would end up being suddenly discarded, frustrating the American government.
