President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele published a forecast for the development of the cryptocurrency market, according to which the bitcoin rate will reach $ 100,000 in 2022.
V message on Twitter, Nayib Bukele wrote that this year the rate of the first cryptocurrency will reach $ 100,000. He also expects that two more countries will accept bitcoin as an official means of payment. At the moment, BTC has this status only in El Salvador.
Interestingly, according to Bukele, cryptocurrencies will become a problem in the next US presidential election. He did not disclose his idea, but, most likely, he means financing of election campaigns – candidates can accept donations in cryptocurrency, however, it can be quite difficult to trace the sources of funds.
Bukele also said that construction of Bitcoin City will begin this year. Plans to build a Bitcoin City in El Salvador became known at the end of November. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to create an innovative city for the development of the cryptocurrency industry and other technological and social initiatives in the country. El Salvador will invest $ 1 billion in the construction of the city, proceeds from the sale of bonds. Also, large cryptocurrency companies plan to invest in the project, including the Bitfinex exchange and the Blockstream company.
In addition, Bukele wrote that there will be a “big surprise” for the public at the Bitcoin conference. It is not yet clear what this is about, but the conference will be held in April 2022 in Miami.
Earlier Nayib Bukele said that now the authorities of most countries of the world are watching El Salvador. The country has become an “experiment” in the use of bitcoin as a means of payment and, according to Bukele, the success of this experiment will “ruin” fiat money.
