The president of the United States (US), Donald Trump, made blunt statements on Tuesday during a joint press conference with the Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. President Trump said it may not be necessary to renegotiate the USMCA, the renegotiation of NAFTA that Donald Trump himself supervised during his first mandate.
In Trump’s typical style, the amplitude and scope of the president’s comments were much broader than the relations between the US and Canada. They included comments on the US dispute with the Houthi rebels, which have intensified attacks on civil navigation objectives in recent months.
Donald Trump also touched China’s issue, noting that the Asian manufacturing and trade giant has not been collaborating in commercial discussions so far, which contradicts Donald Trump’s comments in recent weeks about active commercial discussions that were supposedly occurring with China policy responsible for the Trump administration refused to identify.
