President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Putin is preparing to reject the peace agreement

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said Thursday that his administration believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing to reject a proposal for cessation of hostilities that has been closely managed by the president of the United States (USA) Donald Trump in recent weeks.

According to President Zelenskyy, Putin de Russia is “scared” to express his rejection of the cessation of hostilities directly to President Trump and, on the other hand, he is exploring delay tactics to find a structural reason to move away from the agreement after having spent weeks pressing him.

The moment of the comments is unfavorable for the Trump administration, which is desperate to intermediate an agreement in the Ukraine-Russian conflict so that President Trump can add it to his list of self-received recognition. An envoy of US delegates is meeting with Russian officials in Moscow on Thursday, trying to soften the flexible and frequently changing demands of Russia for a hostilities cessation agreement in Ukraine.
