“In many hours, I thought, ‘I can’t take it…’. I thought I wouldn’t bear so much pain,” she said in an interview with Ela magazine. “Physical pain, soul pain, heart pain. That’s why I talk so much about the importance of mental health. It’s not easy to go through what I went through and keep smiling, being positive.”
“I was saved by my faith and the love of my friends and my family,” he concluded.
Preta Gil has been treating bowel cancer since January 2023 and revealed the next steps of his treatment, which is expected to continue in the United States.
Still in an interview with her, the singer detailed how was the process of learning to deal with the diagnosis and the procedure. “Since the beginning of my fight against cancer, two and a half years ago, I have been looking for the purpose of being going through it all,” he said. “I understood early that one of the purposes was to bring information and, with my story, make a difference in the lives of other people.”
