The singer Preta Gil 50, rescued a video from his childhood to celebrate the day he Gal Costa would turn 79 years old. Goddaughter of the Brazilian popular music icon, the artist also declared herself to her godmother.
“Nothing more symbolic than this recording of the ‘Doces Bárbaro’s’ documentary for today, which would be her birthday @galcosta. The year was 1976, my 2nd birthday and I was in his warm and affectionate lap,” Preta shared on Instagram.
“You are no longer on this plane, but know that you continue to occupy all the spaces, especially in my chest and in my memories, every day of my life. Forever my godmother Gal! I love you always and more”, added the singer.
In the video published by Preta Gil, Gal Costa holds her goddaughter, still small, on her lap, while everyone around sings “Congratulations”. At the end, the video highlights the statement: “Forever my godmother. Gal, I love you!”
