PRF Finds Carted trailer with R $ 5 million in smuggling in RS

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized, on Sunday night (23), a truck abandoned with medical equipment On BR-158, at the height of Sant’Ana do Livramento (RS), approximately 490 km from Porto Alegre. According to the corporation, the cargo is worth more than R $ 5 million.

PRF agents carried out an inspection on site when they noticed a trailer stopped on the road shoulder. The team then thought the vehicle was abandoned and that the mechanical horse was broken.

Upon checking the signs, it was found that the truck, a Mercedes Benz LS 1935, had signs of a Peugeot 206, from Sant’Ana do Livramento, and the semi -trailer had plates of a Mondeo, Quaraí.

The police seized a large amount of boxes with goods that were illegally introduced in Brazil. Among them were mobile phones from Apple, compact desktops, sirtags, smartwatches, computer memories, professional cameras in the value of R $ 30 thousand, Diving clothes, helmets, electronic cigarettes, portable radios communicating, food supplements, surgical and dental equipment and medicines.

In addition, the agents seized a portable spectrometer, equipment that analyzes substances such as lead, mercury, arsenic, copper, gold, silver and platinum . According to the PRF, the device costs around U $ 7 thousand abroad.

The trailer and all the seized material were sent to the Santana do Livramento Judicial Police. So far, those responsible for the trailer have not been found.
