The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized an irregular load of 600 kg of dairy products on BR-423, in Garanhuns, in Agreste de Pernambuco. The products, which were being transported without an invoice and without adequate refrigeration, were confiscated last Tuesday (22).
According to the PRF, the seizure occurred during a routine inspection carried out by the Tactical Patrol Group at km 93 of the highway. When approaching a pickup truck with Mercosur license plates, the agents found 330 kg of mozzarella cheese and 270 kg of butter, stored inappropriately and covered only by a tarpaulin.
The driver, who did not have any tax documentation for the goods, revealed that he had departed from Nossa Senhora da Glória, in Sergipe, and was destined for the city of João Pessoa, in ParaÃba, a journey of approximately 600 km.
In addition to the lack of documents, the merchandise also did not have the Federal Inspection Seal (SIF), mandatory for products transported between states.
The cargo was forwarded to the Pernambuco Agricultural Defense and Inspection Agency (Adagro), which must adopt measures in the case. The lack of refrigeration and adequate certification compromises the quality of dairy products. Now, the company must respond for health irregularities.
