The US dollar opened the day on Friday around 3,827.75 against the Colombian peso. USD/COP has fallen to a daily low at 3,822.28 and touched a daily high at 3,845.14.
At the time of writing, the USD/COP is trading above 3,829.63gaining 0.05% on the day.
The Colombian peso ends a week marked by its rise to one-month highs
- The USD/COP staged a rally on Tuesday and Wednesday that led to maximums not seen since last April 15 at 3,816.
- The week was marked by US inflation figures, whose monthly reading was slightly lower than expected, and by data from Colombia, which in the case of retail sales and industrial production for March worsened forecasts.
- Colombia's GDP grew at a rate of 0.7% in the first quarter of 2024, in line with expectations. Next week, the most relevant data that will be published in the country will be the trade balance for March.
