The US dollar opened the day on Monday, May 13, around 3,893.35 against the Colombian peso, but after the opening of Wall Street it fell to a daily minimum of 3,882.00.
At the time of writing, USD/COP is trading above 3,887.51, losing 0.08% on the day.
Colombia will publish several key data this week
- On Monday, the markets are closed in Colombia for the Ascension holiday.
- Tomorrow Tuesday, Colombia will publish the data of industrial production and retail sales of March. Both fell in February, 2.2% and 1.8%, respectively.
- On Wednesday it will be the turn of the First quarter GDPafter the Colombian economy grew by 0.3% in the fourth third of 2023.
- In the United States, the vice president of the Federal Reserve, Phillip Jefferson, spoke today, stating that he is in favor of maintaining interest rates at current levels until there is an evident moderation in price pressures.
