He USD/COP has raised today from a minimum daily at 4,296.27 to a maximum of 20 days at 4,324.58.
The current price of the dollar against the Colombian peso is at 4,301,59, winning 0.08% in what we have been working on.
The focus turns to the Fed before Colombia’s inflation data
- He Colombian peso continues the depreciation initiated with the unexpected decision of the Bank of the Republic of Colombia to cut their interest rates last Wednesday April 30.
- USD/COP operators now wait for the Interest rates of the United States Federal Reserve which will take place this Wednesday at 18.00 GMT. The entity is expected to leave its types without changes in 4.5% despite Donald Trump’s renamed comments in favor of a cut. Any surprise in the announcement, or in the comments of the president of the Fed, Jerome Powell, can generate volatility in the pair.
- On Thursday it will be the turn of the Colombia inflation for the month of April. The annual indicator is expected to be moderate to 5% from 5.09% in March while in the monthly CPI 0.5% is projected from the previous 0.52%.

The consumer price index (CPI) is published by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) of Colombia, measures the variation in the price of goods and services representing the consumption of families. It is a way of measuring changes in consumption and inflation trends. Readings above what was expected could be interpreted (taking into account the potential impact on monetary policy) as positive for Colombian weight (COP), while lessons less than expected as negative for the Colombian currency.
