Pride 2025, the calendar of events in Italy

June is the month of pride LGBTQIA+, of the Pride 2025 in all cities. A period dedicated to the celebration, visibility and claim of the rights conquered, to be preserved and (above all) still to be conquered. Throughout Italy, from north to south, cities are preparing to welcome processions, cultural events, debates and moments of celebration that put the rights, identity and pride at the center. From large metropolises to small towns, the Pride of 2025 are an opportunity to join, listen to, share and become a unique voice in the name of a more just and inclusive country. In a period in which LGBTQIA+ people in Italy are increasingly the subject of political and social attacks, Pride assume an even deeper meaning. These are not only celebrations, but of acts of resistance and affirmation of one’s existence and rights. An opportunity to reiterate the importance of equality, dignity and freedom for all people.

“While in five Italian cities we go to the square with pride and determination,” he commented Gabriele PiazzoniSecretary General of Arcigay on the occasion of the Pride of 31 May in Alessandria, Caserta, Enna, Padua and Savona, “our support also goes to the national mobilization against the shameful security decree of the Meloni government. The hand that brandishes the truncheon against those who protest in the square is the same that wrote this liberticidal decree. It is the same hand that, from the buildings of power, is building an authoritarian state day after day that represses dissent, diversity and freedoms. The Security Decree represents the first step to prohibit everything that is considered a threat from those who want to govern through fear and prejudice, systematically trampling social and civil rights. It is the same mechanism that we saw at the work in Budapest, where they prohibited the Pride: first the dissent criminalize, then the rights are eliminated. The LGBTQIA+ community knows the face of repression and discrimination well. For this we cannot remain silent in the face of a government that wants to transform Italy into a country where rights are revoked, criminalized protests and the diversity silenced. Today’s pride are not only celebration, but a garrison of democracy ».
