Pride Month: how to celebrate on Instagram and Facebook

The Pride Month, the month of LGBTQ + pride: it has been celebrated for 52 years, since June 1969 considered as the date of birth of the gay liberation movement, in which Stonewall Inn – famous gay bar in Greenwich Village in New York – there were violent discounts between groups of homosexuals and the police. Since then every year this it is the month of commemorations, feasts, events for the sexual freedom and the fight against stereotypes, which we can now also share with social networks, thanks to many news just announced by Facebook and Instagram.

To multiply the possibilities to express ourselves freely, and to entice us to do our part in the fight for gender freedom, the Menlo Park social networks this year celebrate Pride Month by offering new ideas with rainbow hues to enrich posts and stories.

It starts from six new stickers for instagram made in collaboration with three international creators: @yallaroza (from Canada), @lebassis (from Brazil) e @madeby_ari (Italian by origin and German by adoption). They are stickers that recall Pride themes, dedicated to the whole LGBTQ + community to include members as well genderfluid, trans, asessuali e gender non conforming. Also on Instagram, there are Rainbow Hashtags for the keywords of the month #pridefamily, #gayvisibility e #genderfluid: by including them in the stories, the circle that frames your profile photo automatically becomes rainbow.

Meanwhile, they arrive on Facebook and Messenger Pride themed frames, backgrounds, stickers and avatars, which can be used as comments or in Stories. All this while even the Facebook logo changes: was made with the Berlin artist Jasmina El Bouamraoui (EL BOUM) and represents respect for diversity, inclusion, fun and authenticity.
