Priests and theologians help NASA understand how religions would react to a possible alien discovery

As space exploration becomes more and more intense by both public and private services, priests and theologians are helping to NASA to understand how the possible discovery extraterrestrial life would change the way we perceive it Universe.

The Most Reverend Dr. Andrew Davison, priest and theologian at University of Cambridge with a degree in Biochemical from Oxford was one of the 24 theologians who took part in one of her programs NASA in the Princeton College. During the program, it was examined how the religions in the news that there is life beyond Earth.

THE Dr. Davison, argued that now the possibility of finding extraterrestrial life is more and more real and day by day more likely.

The James Webb Space Telescope, which will be put into operation today (24/12) will have the power to analyze the atmospheres of planets located in very distant systems, to determine if they can be inhabited.

In the meantime, the THAT, the European Space Agency, is preparing a mission for 2022 where it will drill two meters from its surface Mars in order to determine if there are living microorganisms. A similar mission is scheduled for 2024 Europe, its icy moon For with the subterranean ocean.

So, the discovery of life on other planets is likely to raise questions among believers. It could be God to create life elsewhere in Universe; He would send it His Son to be sacrificed for the sins of an alien civilization? Perhaps with the discovery of extraterrestrial life, the Creation; THE Davison, however, argues that “Creation is a gift from God and applies equally even if there is life elsewhere in the Universe.” In fact, he is preparing a book from his experience at Princeton. One of the conclusions they drew is that the discovery of aliens would not be unconventional with the writings of most religions.
