First edition in Brazil
The arrival in Brazil of one of the biggest music festivals in Europe was announced in December last year.
“This new international adventure, which joins the editions of Barcelona, Porto, Los Angeles, Santiago and Buenos Aires, will ensure the artistic personality that Primavera Sound has been building since 2001”, stated the announcement of the announcement.
One of the organizers’ proposals for the Brazilian edition is to occupy all 400 thousand square meters of the Anhembi District, in the same way that the matrix usually occupies the Catalan park “Parc del Fòrum” annually.
“The fact that the Anhembi District is so reminiscent of Parc del Fòrum makes it even more special, because it’s like being at home. It is a place where you can breathe music everywhere: there is the Sambódromo, there is the auditorium where all the great names of Brazilian music have performed. It all fits together,” said music curator and director of the Primavera Sound franchise, Gabi Ruiz.
The expansion of the event to South America is part of the “New Primavera Sound Destination” initiative – which in recent days has announced the first editions in Argentina and Chile, also scheduled for 2022.
