Prince Charles and Letizia of Spain, the strange (royal) couple

Last week the queen Letizia of Spain she had flown to England with her husband, King Felipe VI, for the mass in honor of Prince Philip. She now she is back, aloneto participate in a cultural event from the marked Spanish accent that took place in Auckland, a town of 24,000 inhabitants in the English county of Durham. There the queen had an appointment with Prince Charles of Englandwho greeted her with a gallant hand kiss. So the two royals exchanged affectionate ones kiss on the cheek.

Carlo and Letizia, after briefly chatted with a group of children waving flags of the United Kingdom and Spain, began their cultural visit. First stop was the Auckland castle, whose origins date back to 1183. In the manor that was the seat of the powerful princes of Durham, the two royals admired the paintings made in the 17th century by the well-known Spanish painter Francisco de Zurbarán. Then they traveled to Bishop Auckland, where they presided over the inauguration of the Spanish Gallery, which it houses the UK’s largest collection of 20th century Spanish artwork. The feeling between the two real he looked great even as they walked through the paintings.

The pairing between the sovereign of Spain and the heir to the throne of England might seem unusual, but that’s not the case at all. The two, family members acquired – her husband, King Felipe, is descended from Queen Victoria, great-great-grandmother of Elizabeth II – they are both great art lovers. And already in 2019 they had participated together in a cultural event: Letizia then went to London to inaugurate the exhibition of the Valencian painter Sorolla at the National Gallery. Even that time the feeling between the two royals was noticed by everyone. Carlo had remained “encantado” by the beautiful Letizia, as the Madrid newspapers wrote. Enough to forgive her a delay of twenty minutes (“Cause London traffic”, as she hastened to explain).
