Prince George is reserved in public, but behind the scenes he’s a “great, funny guy”

In 2016, the Prince William and the Princess Kate they had brought the Prince George, almost three years old, on a trip to the Royal International Air Tattoo, the UK’s largest military air show. During the outing, the loud noises had overwhelmed the young prince, who was photographed crying before being fitted with a pair of ear protectors. Last Friday, a week before the Prince’s 10th birthday, the trio returned to the air show together with the Princess Charlotte and al Prince Louis. This time there were only smiles, and the family was even able to climb aboard a C17 freighter.

The day at the Air Tattoo was a sign of how the family has changed: William and Kate are now focused on royal duties after a decade in which children and their education came first. For years the appearances of the princes were rare, but now that they are older their presence has become more constant. Charlotte and Louis are the ones who tend to get the attention of the cameras the most, while George seems the most reserved. Yet a family friend told People that the heir to the throne in the family has a great personality: “He’s a nice guy and also very funny,” added the friend.

The stylist Amaia Arrieta, who has dressed all three of Wales’ children in the past, told the magazine that George is learning to be more comfortable in public too: “I think George knows the protocol by now,” he said. And he added that he is “very sporty” and that his parents encouraged him to play sports from an early age.

In their final year George, Charlotte and Louis attended Lambrook School in Berkshire. At the end of last month, George and Kate were seen touring Eton College, the prestigious boarding school in Windsor which William and the prince Harry they attended in the 1990s. Students do not enter Eton until they turn 13, but must register for admission during the school year in which they turn 10. Entries expired on June 30, a decision may already have been made.
