Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they are parents for the second time. Although we just heard the news, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed the new baby, who is a girl, last Friday.
In the official statement, details such as the weight, the day and the exact time that the little girl arrived in the world were released. In addition, they confirmed the name that their daughter will carry.
According to the official statement from Buckingham Palace, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex named the girl Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. The little girl was born last Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in a hospital in Santa Barbara, California, United States.
The name chosen for the little girl is a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who as a child was affectionately called Lilibet, and to Lady Di, Diana, Princess of Wales.
Through a statement, Meghan and Harry thanked everyone for being aware of the birth of their little girl:
On June 4 we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have imagined and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we have felt from everyone. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.
