Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle sat in the second row during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral service at Westminster Abbey on Monday.

Harry and Megan stood alongside Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as well as other members of the British monarchy.

Prince Harry: Know the status of the youngest son of King Charles III

With the death of Queen Elizabeth II this Thursday (8), and the accession to the throne of the eldest son, now called King Charles III, there are changes in the line of succession of the British royal family.

Professor and expert on British royalty Renato Medeiros explains that Harry would only become king “if Prince William and all his children die or abdicate the throne”. He becomes 5th in the line of succession after King Charles III takes the throne.

Even after ceasing to be an active member of royalty, Harry does not lose his birthright to the throne. As well as their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

In February 2021, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, parted ways with the British family, telling Queen Elizabeth they would no longer be active royals.

The couple decided to give up their obligations and royal status and moved to the United States in search of a life away from the spotlight, as Harry classified in an interview with American presenter Oprah Winfrey.
