Prince Harry: ‘I’d like my father and brother back’

«VI would like my father back, I would like my brother back. It wasn’t supposed to end like this.” To pronounce the surprising words (given the known tensions in the family) is the prince Harryin a’interview granted to the television station ITV in view of the release of its memorial-bomb, Shoot. The interview – made in California where Harry lives with his wife Meghan Markle and two children Archie and Lilibet – will air on January 8, two days before the release of the book. But the American press has provided some advances. In which Harry on the one hand reveals that he is saddened by the feud with his father Charles III and with his brother Williambut on the other he specifies: «I want a family, not an institution». And he launches new accusations, claiming that the august relatives «they think it’s better to paint us as the bad guys” is that “they have shown absolutely no willingness to make peace».

Harry in the new interview added that the path of “silence” chosen by the royal house when it would have been necessary to expose themselves to defend him and his wife Meghan it is comparable to a form of “betrayal”. Not only that: «Every single time I’ve tried to defend Meghan and myself in private there have been leaks and stories against us». A theme already addressed in the recent Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan in which the Sussex have launched various arrows poisoned against the royal family.

The prince’s new televised outburst will air next Sunday on CBS and ITV. And it will be followed by the release of the bombshell book which does not bode well for the Windsors. Details have not yet been leaked but from the latest rumors it seems that Harry will express all his frustration at being reduced to “spare tire of the Crown” is that it will especially attack William and Kate Middleton. “In general, I think the content will be worse than the royal family expects. Everything is laid bare,” an insider told the Sunday Times. «King Charles will come out better than expectedbut it will be especially hard for William and Kate Middleton. The Princes of Wales they will bear the brunt of Harry’s hatred».

The prince, in the new interview with ITV, said that he “would like his father and brother back”. But at the same time he blamed the august relatives for the impossibility of healing the family feud: «They have shown absolutely no willingness to make peace». Given the current situation – and certainly after the release of Shoot things will not improve – at the moment the hypothesis of a reconciliation seems very unlikely.
