THE Prince Philip died at the age of 99 last month. Yesterday, the official death certificate was released which states that the Duke of Edinburgh died of old age.
The chief physician of the Palace, Sir Huw Thomas, signs the certificate and as reported by Dailymail, this term is accepted if the patient is over 80 years old and if the doctor has personally taken care of the patient for a long time, observing a gradual reduction of his health indicators.
Thus, according to the same publication, it is suggested that there was no other identifiable disease or injury that contributed to the death, including the heart condition that forced him to undergo surgery a few weeks before he died, according to the Daily Telegraph, which received the certificate.
