Prince William and Kate celebrate the wedding anniversary in Scotland

Prince William and his wife, Kate, visited a Scottish island on Tuesday (29) to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary.

William, heir to the British throne, married Kate Middleton, as she was called at the time, on April 29, 2011, in the Westminster Abbey, a place of coronation and burial of the British monarchs. At the time, the ceremony was assisted by thousands of people around the world.

They met a decade earlier, when they both studied at St. Andrews on the east coast of Scotland.

Instead of celebrating the occasion at home, the prince and the Princess of Wales returned to Scotland for a two -day visit to the islands of Mull and Iona, part of the shebride archipelago on the west coast of the country.

They started the trip in the town of Tobermory, famous for their colorful homes overlooking the port, looking relaxed while smiling and waved to a crowd of supporters.

They also visited a community center before strolling a handicraft fair, where they talked with marketers and posed for photos with residents.

At X, the couple shared photos greeting the community, including the local fair producers, and thanked them for the “warm and brilliant afternoon reception that went to Tobermory.”

They also said they were proud to support AROS Hall reform, a place that hosts community events.

The British media reported that after their official obligations, they would spend their wedding anniversary in a small isolated and independent house in Mull, famous for their stunning landscape.

The trip is a rare joint public ride for the couple, who has three children: George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 7.

Moreover, since Kate had started a preventive chemotherapy treatment against cancer, of which she is in the process of remission (disappearance), Wales Princess began to appear less often at the time.

“Scotland is incredibly important to me and will always have a special place in my heart,” commented William, who as heir to the British throne holds the title of Lord of the islands in 2021.

“George, Charlotte and Louis already know how dear Scotland is to us… We have no doubt that they will grow by sharing our love and connection with Scotland,” he added.
