Prince William has landed on TikTok

Now, however, the eldest son of Charles and Diana decided to become a “creator” sharing her first TikTok and thus formalizing its debut on the platform. To do this, chose the profile of Earthshot Prize – the award created together with David Attenborough to reward the best environmental projects and solutions – on which a video was published announcing that the winners of this edition will be proclaimed in a ceremony to be held on December 2 in Boston.

Landing on TikTok was greeted very positively by users, judging by the comments that appeared shortly after the video was released. What they liked the most was that they chose to show up on the platform for the first time to support an initiative related to the fight against climate change. L’Earthshot Prize it is a project that is close to Prince William’s heart who, in 2021, decided to actively commit to achieving the sustainable development goals established by the UN by 2030. Each year, until a date designated by the United Nations, it will award 5 projects – from categories such as nature restoration and protection, cleaning the air, ocean protection, waste-free living and climate action – by donating £1m to the their realization.

The award ceremony will therefore be one of the key moments of the trip to the United Statesthe first in 8 years, of the Prince and Princess of Wales. The couple will stay in Boston from November 30 to December 2, days during which they will meet city authorities and visit centers and associations that deal with childhood and the fight against climate change. In addition to Mayor Michelle Wu and Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, they will also meet the creators of the Greentown Labsone of the largest incubators of climate-enhancing technologies in North America, and del Rock Inc., an organization that deals with young people, between 16 and 24 years old, involved in urban violence. Finally, the journey will end with theEarthshot Prize which, among others, will also involve Billie EilishAnnie Lennox and Ellie Goulding who will perform during the event. Rami Malek, Catherine O’Hara and Shailene Woodley will also be present for the delivery of the awards.
