Prince William’s millionaire salary is revealed; find out what the value is

Can you imagine receiving almost £6 million, approximately R$36 million at the current pound price in Brazil? Well, that’s what Prince William received this year!

The information was released on Thursday (29), at the annual report 2023 of the Duchy of Cornwall, in the United Kingdom, according to the websites “Page Six” and “New York Post”.

The value was received before the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and the ascension of Charles III, his father, to the English throne. William thus became 25th Duke of Cornwall and is now entitled to the Duchy’s surplus profits annually.

It is worth noting that, as the 41-year-old prince became heir in the middle of the British financial year, this year’s income is only a fraction of what he could have earned.

Between 2022 and 2023, as the report points out, the Duchy generated a net profit of £24.05 million, around R$150 million, showing a jump of around 4.5% compared to £23.02 million (around of R$ 141 million) from the previous period.

That is, in 2024, even if profits are stagnant, the future King of England will be able to raise more than R$ 150 million annually.

“My father left an indelible mark on the Duchy. I look forward to continuing his work, as well as exploring new opportunities to make a difference,” William said in a forwarding to the report, as per “Page Six.”

What is the “Duchy of Cornwall”

Created by King Edward 3rd, in 1337, the Duchy is a private property with the objective of “providing independence to his son and heir”, according to the publication of the “New York Post”.

The tradition has continued over the years and now it’s William’s turn to receive the funds to be used to finance public, private and charitable activities.
