Britain’s Princess Anne, 73, suffered minor injuries and a concussion following an incident on Sunday and is in hospital as a precaution, Buckingham Palace said in a statement, adding that she was expected to have a complete and rapid recovery.
“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the entire Royal Family in sending their greatest love and best wishes to the Princess for a speedy recovery,” the palace statement said.
The 73-year-old princess, the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth, was walking through the grounds of the Gatscombe Park estate, where her home is located, when she suffered minor head injuries, a royal source said.
The source added that there were horses nearby and his medical team said the head injuries were consistent with impact from a horse’s head or legs.
