It’s not all tiaras and ball gowns for the 17-year-old Princess Leonor of Spain, who last month enrolled at the General Military Academy in Zaragoza, northern Spain. Three years of intense military training begin for the young royal. She will spend her first year there, then she will move on to the Naval Academy and, finally, she will gain experience at the General Air Force Academy.

Once she ascends the throne, she will become commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. Since she signed up last month, as evidenced by the images we propose, she is tackling the physical part of her royal military duties with enthusiasm and determination.

The princess’s military adventure began with participation in the traditional “Act of Delivery of the Sabres”, during which each participant is named “Knight” or “Cadet”. The princess took part in the military ceremony, sporting an elegant chignon and a red cap.
