Pro-Russian separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine have accused Ukrainian government forces of carrying out two more mortar attacks today, Russia’s Interfax news agency reported.
Kiev and rebels have blamed each other for escalating tensions, increasing gunfire and mortar fire along the line of contact since Thursday, raising fears in the West that Russia, which has more than 100,000 troops on its border, may be involved in the Donbas war.
The self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Lugansk announced that in the past 24 hours a total of 29 violations of the ceasefire by Ukrainian army units were recorded, TASS also reported.
