Procon-SP expanded in-person service to serve consumers impacted by the power outage in São Paulo. Since last Friday (11), according to Enel, an electricity distributor in São Paulo and the metropolitan region, heavy rain has affected the supply of electricity to 2.1 million customers.
From Tuesday (15), stations will be installed in train and subway stations in the capital of São Paulo, such as Tatuapé (CPTM), Sacomã (Metrô) and Jabaquara (EMTU), from 9am to 3pm. In addition, the Procon-SP headquarters, located at Rua Conselheiro Furtado, 503, in the Liberdade neighborhood, is also providing in-person services.
The objective is to facilitate the registration of complaints by consumers who faced difficulties with the lack of energy and to expand support to the population. To register a complaint, the consumer must present their electricity bill.
Enel, the main energy supplier in the region, was notified by Procon-SP to explain the measures taken to restore energy supply and serve affected consumers. The other energy concessionaires operating in São Paulo were also called upon to present their action plans in climate emergency situations.
According to the company, as of 2pm this Monday (14), power had been restored to around 1.7 million people.
