O procon-SP reported this Monday (21) that it notified B2W Companhia Digital, a company that merged with Lojas Americanas in 2021 and formed the Americanas SAafter two of the company’s e-commerce sites went offline last Sunday (20).

The company owns the websites Americanas.com, Submarino, Shoptime and Sou Barato. The first three remain off the air this Monday (21).

According to the agency, explanations were requested about the problems that affected the Americanas and Submarine over the weekend, after the company announced that it had taken the pages down after identifying an attempt at “unauthorized access”.

With this, the person responsible for the sites will have until next Tuesday (22) to clarify when the problem was found, the forecast of regularization, the measures and procedures of security protocols that were implemented and the measures to mitigate possible damages due to the attack.

The company will also need to inform the types of transactions and operations that have been or are still compromised, those impacted for consumers, if the attack affected the database and what information may have been affected.

There will also be a need to inform how the consumer will be able to exercise the so-called “right of regret”, which is valid for online purchases for up to seven days and allows the full return of the amount paid, exchange requests or regularization of problems related to products. essentials, with immediate replacement or repair.

Procon also requested that Americanas inform which security measures are already adopted, as well as the proof of them, to protect the Dice personal data of consumers from unauthorized access or accidental situations of destruction, loss, alteration or improper treatment of data.
