Professor is removed for the second time after saying he admires Hitler in SC

A history teacher at the Santa Catarina state education network was removed from his duties after claiming that he admires Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi party and dictator of Germany between 1933 and 1945.

Leave is from work in the classroom for a period of 60 days. The Department of Education of Santa Catarina states that it became aware of the case last Tuesday (14). The teacher works in the city of Imbituba, on the southern coast of Santa Catarina.

The docent was filmed stating that he supported what Hitler did and that he admired him. In the video, the teacher is concerned about the possibility that someone is recording.

He looks around when asked about Hitler and, not noticing any recording equipment, goes on to state his admiration for the former dictator.

This is the second time that the professor has been removed for words of support for Hitler. The first case was registered in early November, after the 2022 elections. On that occasion, the removal was for 90 days.

After the first complaints, an inquiry was opened by the Civil Police. According to the delegate responsible for the case, Juliano Baesso, the document should be completed by next week.

Also according to the police chief, after a request from the police, the Justice of Santa Catarina issued search and seizure warrants against the teacher.

Cell phones and computers were collected. According to the police, the man collaborated with the investigations, providing the equipment passwords.

On one of the cell phones, it was possible to verify the teacher’s statement that “Hitler was correct”. Confirmation was verified in WhatsApp application conversations.

The teacher can be indicted for apology for Nazism and for practicing, inducing or inciting discrimination or prejudice.

In case of conviction, taking into account the Penal Code and the Anti-Racism Law, penalties can reach 3 years in prison.
