Project for privatization of the Port of Santos will be forwarded to the PPI

The Ministry of Infrastructure informed this Tuesday, 13th, that the project to privatize the Port of Santos will be forwarded by the Ministry for a referendum on the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI). The next step, according to the Ministry, is to send the proposal for analysis by the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU).

The model was approved by the National Land Transport Agency (Antaq) on Monday (12). The documentation provides for a contract stipulated in 35 years, with the possibility of being extended for another five.

The port will be auctioned on the basis of the highest grant value, stipulated by Antaq at R$ 3.015 billion. The modeling also foresees BRL 6.3 billion in new investments, of which BRL 2.1 billion will be allocated to port infrastructure and BRL 4.2 billion for the execution of the dry tunnel that will connect Santos and Guarujá. as anticipated the broadcastGrupo Estado’s real-time news system, the port concessionaire will be responsible for the tunnel project.

Despite the mandatory values ​​being estimated at R$ 6.3 billion, the government has stated that privatization should generate a volume of R$ 18 billion.
