Projota published on his social media a video detailing the robbery he suffered at his home in the early hours of Tuesday (17). The musician was taken hostage by four armed criminals in Cotia, Greater São Paulo.
“Men broke into my house, tied me up and robbed my residence. I was with my children, which made everything more difficult (…) everyone knows how attached I am to them,” he said.
The 38-year-old rapper explained that while the robbery was taking place, his children remained asleep in the room, and that while he was being held hostage, he begged for the children’s safety.
“At first, I was completely afraid that they would do something bad to my children. I said, ‘Please, leave them there. They’re sleeping,’” he said emotionally.
“They [os bandidos] They told me that they didn’t want to harm me or my children, and I understood that it wasn’t their intention (…) but then I started to get scared because as they were looking for gold, jewelry, cash, things that I never had at home (…) I was afraid that they would use my children to get some information.”
Projota detailed the consequences of the attack: “I don’t know how long it lasted, I was tied up there for a long time. They turned the whole house upside down looking for a safe that didn’t exist. In the end, they accessed my accounts. I lost a lot of money. (…) Faced with the danger to my children’s lives, I thought: ‘just take it, bro’”
The suspects fled with the artist’s car, a Subaru WRX 2.0, which was located on the morning of the same day by municipal guards on Estrada da Capuava, also in Cotia (SP).
According to the Civil Police, the singer gave a statement and requested an expert report from the Criminalistics Institute. The case was registered as vehicle theft and home robbery and is being investigated by the 2nd Police District of Cotia.
