Promises: the trailer of the new film with Pierfrancesco Favino in preview

Love undermines the certainties and twists roads that seemed beautiful and finished. Alexander seems to have had everything that life has always taken from him: after going through a difficult childhood, he can finally say he is peaceful thanks to the family he managed to build with his wife and daughter. The meeting with Laura, an art gallery owner about to get married, however, will change things: it will be in that moment that the two will realize that they have no escape, discovering a bond that will collide with a cruel and unexpected fate. Promises, the new film by Amanda Sthers based on her novel The promises and premiered at the Rome Film Fest, arrives in theaters on November 18th bringing with it passion and drama, love and feeling.

To give life to this film so full of pathos and, at the same time, so delicate, of which Vanity Fair the trailer anticipates you above, it is a very rich cast that goes from Pierfrancesco Favino in the role of Alexander, a man called to face tragedy and the difficult task of surviving a tormented existence, to Kelly Reilly in Laura’s, perfect in lending her face to a woman full of fragility who will struggle with a feeling that will devour her from within. Promises it is a distillation of nostalgia, regrets and broken promises that will lead the viewer to the discovery of an inexhaustible passion and, even more, of the union of two completely complete souls who know that they will remain linked forever.

“I brought this story to life like a novel, and only later did I turn it into
a screenplay for the cinema. It is an intimate film, a story that belongs to me. It’s classic,
polite, reserved, but when it hatches it shows the wounds, the laughter and the tears and also the friendships
the passions, the fears, the traumas and the irony of life, “said director Amanda Sthers, who defined Promises ambizioso and original both in the narration and in the artistic choices, such as the use of particular lenses that allowed to shoot some scenes through a mirror, playing with lights and shadows. Promises is an Indiana Production, Vision Distribution, Barbary Films and Iwaca production, distributed in Italy and around the world by Vision Distribution.
