Promsvyazbank tested operations with the digital ruble in a mobile application

One of the largest Russian state-owned banks, PSB, has tested operations with the digital currency of the Bank of Russia, which could potentially be performed by individual clients.

According to Alexander Chernoshchekin, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Business Block at Promsvyazbank, the financial institution has successfully tested the operation with the Bank of Russia digital currency in the version for the mobile application:

“We see great potential in this instrument, which we expect will become a new settlement standard in the Russian economy.”

The test participants noted that in order to conduct transactions, it was enough to register in the bank’s mobile application and open a digital wallet. All information about the transactions performed came directly from the Bank of Russia digital ruble platform and was immediately reflected on the balance of the client’s digital wallet in the smartphone application.

According to the Bank of Russia, 12 banks expressed their desire to participate in the global testing of the cryptoruble platform, which will connect to the regulator’s platform as their digital systems are refined.
