Proposal of censure is facing this afternoon by the French government for retirement – the dominant scenarios

A motion of censure in the National Assembly is going to face today by the French minority government with the Socialists, who have submitted it, not satisfied with Prime Minister Francois Bairou’s approach to retirement. Observers expect the proposal, which will be discussed late this afternoon, will fail and the government will remain in power, as far -right nationalists, led by Marin Lepen, do not intend to withdraw their support from the government. Bairou had begun consultations regarding a modification of the controversial reform of the 2023 pension. This had initially secured the tolerance of the Socialists. However, consultations failed, with the result that the Socialists submit a motion of censure.
