Prosecutor Diego Luciani asked, this Monday (22), for 12 years in prison for the vice president of Argentina Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, for the Vialidad case, which investigates alleged cases of corruption in public works.
Cristina Kirchner is being investigated for alleged crimes of illicit association, aggravated by the position of chief, and aggravated fraudulent administration to the detriment of public administration between 2007 and 2015, when he was president of Argentina.
The vice president denied these accusations.
Minutes later, President Alberto Fernández regretted the Public Ministry’s request:
“Today is a very unpleasant day for someone, like me, who grew up in the family of a judge, was educated in the world of law and has been teaching Criminal Law for more than three decades. Once again, I convey my deepest affection and solidarity to the Vice President,” he wrote on Twitter.
Today is a very ungrateful day for someone who, like you, has been raised in the family of a judge, has been educated in the world of law and has been educated in the Penal Law for more than three decades.
