A Public Prosecutor in Rhodes Island was at the center of a fierce criticism after demanding police to turn off the body’s cameras as they arrested her, even warning that they would “regret it”. Devon Hogan Flanagan, an assistant prosecutor of the state, was involved in an episode on Thursday night outside the Clarke Cooke House restaurant in Newport. Police were called to the scene after a complaint about “unwanted people”, according to Nypost. As shown in video from the body’s cameras released, Flanagan and her girlfriend, Veronica Hanan, refused to leave and attempted to push the police officers citing their status.
