The Berlin public prosecutor’s office announced today the investigation against the singer Rammstein Til Lindemann, who is accused of sexual assaults after concerts of the popular German band. A spokesman for the Berlin prosecutor’s office confirmed to AFP that the allegations related to “sexual offenses and drug trafficking».
Rammstein is probably the most famous German-speaking band and one of the most popular in the field of industrial metal music.
The tangle of revelations began to unravel at end of Mayaccording to the Athens News Agency, after testimony of a 24-year-old Irish woman found at a Rammstein concert in Vilnius, Lithuania. Shelby Lynn said she was invited to a party on the sidelines of the concert where the 60-year-old singer of the band sexually assaulted her, but she avoided him. It supports that they spiked her drink with drugs because she didn’t remember anything after a certain point and that she woke up the next morning with bruises on various parts of her body.
In the following days, other girls described more or less the same scenario. All of them had been seen close to the stage and were allegedly invited by Lindemann to a backstage party.
THE Til Lindemann has categorically denied what has been attributed to him and his lawyers announced that he would take legal action against the women who accused him of sexual assault.
The band’s concerts are dominated by the element of exaggeration, with plenty of fireworks and eccentric appearances by its members.
Rammstein are currently touring Europe. In Switzerland and Austria there are calls for a boycott of their concerts, due to the allegations against the band’s singer.
