Protesters held a protest this Friday morning (19), in Hiroshima, against the holding of the G7, the summit of the group that brings together France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Italy and Canada.
Protesters carry signs saying: “no imperialist G7 event”, “no war with China”, “hands off Ukraine” and “no nuclear war”.
Participants are heavily surrounded by a cordon of police. At times there was confusion and demonstrators were pushed by security agents trying to prevent the protest from reaching the perimeter of the G7 venue, in the area of the Peace Memorial Park.
A CNN follows the protests and spoke with demonstrators who stated that the movement is linked to leftist parties.
They started the march at 10 am (local time) and have been protesting for at least an hour.
