The demonstration began around 4:10 pm between the Palmeiras-Barra Funda and Luz stations, in the central region of São Paulo. The place is near the Moinho favela.
According to CPTM, the act affected the circulation of the 7-Ruby, 8-Diamond and 13-Jade lines. At 5:30 pm, the company reported that the operation in these extensions was already normalized.
Demolition of houses
The State Secretariat for Urban Development and Housing reported that this Monday began the demolition work of vacant houses in the Favela do Moinho.
The action is carried out by the São Paulo State Housing and Urban Development Company (CDHU), the Sé Subprefecture and the Civil Defense.
According to the folder, the changes of 168 families living in the favela have already been made. “In all, 752 families have already joined the resettlement (88% of the total), and 599 are qualified, ie, they are already able to sign contracts and receive the keys as soon as the units are ready,” says the secretary.
“So far, 548 have chosen the destination property for final service or signaled the option for an individual letter of credit to seek a home in the market, the same number that has already started the process for receiving housing aid. The works will continue, in the coming days, to make the scheduled changes with families who have already requested transportation to new addresses,” added the folder.
