With the confirmation by the PSDB that the voting to choose the party’s candidate for the presidency will resume this Saturday (27), the main candidates for the post immediately triggered the resumption of the mobilization of supporters.
The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, told the Horário de Brasília podcast that he was dedicated to personally calling members, calling them to vote. According to the Gaucho, he has contacted around 100 mayors and deputy mayors since Thursday night. “Let’s vote,” he said. Leite also said that some details about the consolidation of votes still had to be settled. “But I trust that everything will be overcome,” he added.
The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, celebrated the decision. “Let’s go to the polls and vote. Democracy is in the vote”, he told the Brasilia time. His team activated the mobilization structure and set the goal of putting all supporters to vote by noon this Saturday. At the request of the president of the PSDB, Bruno Araújo, the voting time was extended and votes will be allowed to be registered until 17:00. Doria’s team agreed, but they want agility and are calling on supporters to register their votes early.
The confusion surrounding the vote, which should have taken place last weekend, meant that the toucan that serves as a symbol of the PSDB was chosen as the “Picture of the Week” of this episode of Brasilia time.

But it is not only from the PSDB that an attempt at a third way is made. As the party struggles to decide its candidate, President Jair Bolsonaro has confirmed his affiliation with the PL. The ceremony will take place on November 30th. Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the president’s eldest son, joins on the same day. However, Congressionalists will make the migration to PL in phases.
A first wave will incorporate the pictures of the new president of the Republic after the confirmation of the merger between DEM and PSL. A second wave will wait for the end of the party window, in April of next year. This is because there are agreements that Pocket Members hope to materialize in the resumption of the Legislature, as a nomination for the presidency of committees.
In this episode of Brasilia time, Daniela Lima and Renata Agostini also detail the maneuver being articulated by Congress to keep secret the destination of billionaire resources from the so-called “rapporteur’s amendments” over the past two years. The vote on the change in the rules for this type of spending, a requirement of the Supreme Court (STF), is scheduled for next week.
